The #ColecoAdam version of the #Fujinet News program has been released. Like the #Atari8bit version, It provides a viewer into a bunch of aggregated news sources.

Miscellaneous • Fujinet questions

I've been playing with my Fujinet device and it's really great overall. I do have a few questions:

- What are the plans for the 2 leftward buttons?
- How do I know which firmware version I have?
- There is an OUT Adamnet port on the device, but when I connect a Virtual Disk Drive to it, it locks up and refuses to boot
- I have a Micro Innovations disk with TDOS set up to use the serial port for output which I use to display CP/M on an external terminal. This does not seem to work when I boot the disk from Fujinet.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

#FujiNet working on idea: block (sector) to network redirect.

Would allow for a program to mark a sector such that:

given a mounted disk. A sector or block # could be marked with a N: URL.

* On read of sector, it would read from the N: URL
* On write of sector, it would write the sector data to N: URL.

This would allow for existing games that write their hi-score data out to disk, to be sent to a server to be processed and filtered.

I will be using it on the #ColecoAdam Super Games to implement high score leaderboards for Buck Rogers, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., Sub-Roc, and Zaxxon.

Anyone wanna hack on it too?

Greetings Coleco mates,

I am Masteries, a new user of Coleco Adam computer.

Currently, the Coleco Adam in use is a shared one,
due to there are few of these computers in Spain.

Despite this, its very surprisingly that a 1983 released computer
has 80 KB RAM and MSX mode 2 video capabilities.

I hope we continue to see each other on this forum,
learning programming and related things for Coleco.

The FujiNet for Coleco Adam is considered to be in a useful state at the moment.

While I am still working on different parts of the firmware, as well as functionality (e.g. printer, and serial terminal), it is already useful in its present state, and any new features can be downloaded with a firmware update at any moment. It is also possible to set up a development environment to not only hack on the firmware, but to try out new features, before they are released as builds.

Some of you have been contacting me directly asking to buy the units. While Mozzwald does build runs of units to cover development costs, we do not constantly build or keep them in stock. Instead, we've decided to allow anyone to build them for their respective communities, especially since we do not charge for any sort of license, or have exclusivity agreements of any kind.

CP/M & TDOS • [fujinet] Patching AuxWrite in CP/M BIOS.

Right now, the only thing keeping the AdamNet Serial routines in the BIOS really slow is literally the fact that it sends one character at a time, per packet, and does status calls in between each one, which is ridiculously inefficient.

I have added WebSockets server functionality to FujiNet, and have wired up an Xterm.js that is placed on the FujiNet flash. This provides a free 80 column VT-100 terminal for every single FujiNet user, and this is wired up to the AdamNet serial device.

If we can make AuxWrite (and AuxRead, and AuxStatus) be able to handle blocks of the maximum packet size (16 bytes) the resulting speed increases dtramatically, but I am really stretched thin trying to get Adam sewn up, while also helping with the Apple2 bring-up in parallel.

Anyone want to take a crack @ it ?
